Our concert at St. John’s in the Square, Wolverhampton on Saturday 9th May 2015 was to remember VE day 70 years on (#VE70) & to raise money for our chosen charity, the Royal British Legion. The concert featured several talented soloists from our partner, High Arcal School & Organist John Stratton.
WOMVC performed the following music:

Keep the home fires burning (’til the Boys Come Home) is a British patriotic First World War song composed in 1914 by Ivor Novello.
Royal British Legion hymn “O Valiant Hearts” (remembering the fallen of the First World War. Words taken from a poem by Sir John Stanhope Arkwright.)
Let there be Peace on Earth (by Sy Miller and Jill Jackson)
The Dam Busters March (God is our Strength & Refuge)

(There’ll be bluebirds over) The white cliffs of Dover (by Walter Kent, a Second World War song made famous by Vera Lynn in 1942.)

We invite you to a concert of traditional & patriotic music to celebrate St. George’s Day (actually April 23rd.) WOMVC will be performing along with Black Country Brass on Saturday 18th April starting at 7.30pm & should end c. 9.45pm. There will be an interval & a prize raffle.
