Congratulations go to Bill Blower for achieving 65 years of membership & service with the choir. Bill joined the choir on 30th January 1951. To mark his 50th year in 2001 we granted him life membership. Though we hope he’s not ready to retire just yet!
As a boy, Bill started singing with St. Barnabas Church choir in Wolverhampton. The highlight of his singing ambitions came when he joined WOMVC. It wasn’t long before his ability as a First Tenor was recognised & he became a regular soloist. Throughout his membership he served on various committees.
For 40 years he worked in the despatch department of Butler’s Brewery in Wolverhampton, only interrupted by National Service in the RAF.
We had the pleasure of performing a special Christmas Concert for The Link at Calvary Church, Kingswinford on Saturday 5th December, 2-4pm. Mince pies & mulled punch were provided to get us in the Christmas spirit!

WOMVC were proud to lead Wolverhampton’s Civic Carol Service 2015. The service began with Once in Royal David’s City.
After the 1st lesson, the choir sang The Advent Hymn & Joy to the World followed by a congregational carol ‘See him lying on a bed of straw.’
After the 2nd lesson, everyone sang ‘O little town of Bethlehem’ & after the 3rd lesson we sang the Christmas version of Kwmbayah & O Holy Night. After the 4th lesson everyone sang ‘Hark the herald angels sing’, then after the 5th lesson, the choir sang How great thou art & Let there be peace on Earth. After the Prayers of Intercession, we all sang ‘O come all ye faithful’ to finish the service.
The Wolverhampton Orpheus Male Voice Choir will be in fine voice at the city’s annual Civic Carol Service next month.
The traditional service, which is open to all, takes place at Darlington Street Methodist Church on Wednesday 9 December, 2015, from 3.30pm and will be led by the Reverend David Lavender. Mince pies and mulled wine will be served afterwards.
Wolverhampton Mayor Councillor Ian Brookfield said: “We’re looking forward to a fantastic afternoon of song in the company of the Wolverhampton Orpheus Male Voice Choir. This fantastic annual event is sure to get everyone into the festive spirit.”
